Amy's Gallery of Handcrafted Items

Hello!  Welcome to a virtual tour of some of my favorite projects.

Hello!

Here is my most recent sweater.  I spun the yarn for this at a "Fiber Fun Day" this winter. The fiber was from our sheep.  Then I dyed it, using Country Classics dye.  The sweater knit up very fast, since we were attending lots of meetings, and I took this along to keep my busy. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.  Oh, and I'm the one wearing it in this picture. =)

Here I am modeling the "Sheep Shawl" that I knit. I used the Fiber Trends pattern. I really enjoy knitting lace!

Makes you just want to hug him!

This is Bernard.  I spun the yarn from the fur of my angora rabbit, Misty Morning.  I then knitted it using a "Fiber Trends" pattern, and felted it in the washing machine.  He turned out so soft!  He's sitting on a quilt I made, next to a basket I wove.  In the basket is some of my handspun, and also my "Emily" spindle, made by my brother, Adam. =)

Hey Clover, she's taking a picture of us!

Meet Clover and Timothy. =)  They are also knitted and felted, like Bernard, from a "Fiber Trends" pattern.  I used Bartlett yarn for them.  They have a little lamb, Alfalfa, but I don't have a picture of him yet. =)

Here is a quilt I'm working on.  This picture was taken when it was laid out to have the backing and batting basted together.  I'm still working on hand quilting it.

Who says bugs aren't cute?

Meet Miss Buggy.  Ok, so she needs a better name. =)  I'm still working on that.  I needle felted her during a needle felting class.  I had fun giving her a personality. =)  She's about 3" by 2".

Here is my brother, Adam, modeling a hat I made. I needle felted the hat around a foam rubber form, then needle felted the locks of dyed border leicester locks onto it. It sure makes an interesting hat!

Old meet new....

This is a CD spindle.  I took two CD's, put them back to back, then crochet a doily to cover it.  The shaft was turned by Adam, out of black walnut.  Below is what it looks like spinning.

I'm getting dizzy.....

I'm hoping to keep this updated with my most recent projects, so check back!  And if you don't see any changes, email me and bawl me out. =)  Thank you for visiting.
