UPAVIM Bags Handmade in Guatemala by "Ruth and Nohemi." Distributed by UPAVIM
Crafts.
These bags were made by Ruth and Nohemi, a widows and orphans cooperative in
Guatemala. UPAVIM is helping them to reach a market outside of Guatemala
where the competition makes it impossible for artisans to get a fair wage for
their work. UPAVIM is a cooperative developed by local women united in a
commitment to create a better life for themselves and their community.
Their programs encompass education, job opportunities, health ad well-being, and
personal development for women.

Small
UPAVIM Bag
This bag is available in black or or dark blue. Both styles are accented
with colorful handwoven fabric on the front and on the cellphone pocket in the
back. Two zippered pockets on the front outside. Main flap and
cellphone pocket flaps close with hook & loop closures. Under the main
flap, there is a zipper to access the inside, where there is also an additional
zippered pocket, perfect for change or small items. Strap is adjustable,
from 20" to 38" long. Bag is approximately 7" tall,
5.5" wide and 1.5" deep. Cellphone pocket measures approximately
3.5" tall, 2.75" wide and 1.75" deep

Woven by Amy Mielke. 100% Hand-dyed Wool. Unlined. Measures
approximately 6" tall x 4" wide, excluding fringe. 32" long
shoulder strap (so the bag hangs down 16" from shoulder).
Washing
instructions: Handwash in lukewarm water, rinse in plenty of clear water,
roll in a towel to remove excess water and lay flat to dry.

Twill Bag with Crocheted Shoulder Strap
Woven by Andrea Mielke. 100 % Wool. Unlined. Crocheted
shoulder strap. Button closure. Measures approximately 9" tall
by 4.5" wide. 46" long shoulder strap (so the bag hangs
down 23" from shoulder).

roll in a towel to remove excess water and lay flat to dry.

lining. Twisted cord shoulder strap. Measures approximately 6"
